What “Greener” Really Looks Like: Behind the Scenes at Scrub Me Good
In today’s world, caring for the environment is more important than ever. At Scrub Me Good, we believe that responsible choices—big and small—can create a lasting impact. And while we’re known for our simple effective body care and beautifully scented products, we’re equally proud of the steps we take behind the scenes to reduce our environmental footprint.
This Earth Day, we’re sharing how we combine thoughtful packaging, responsible sourcing, and small business values to help make your skincare routine more sustainable—one order at a time.
Reusing Shipping Materials: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
We receive many shipments throughout the year—from jars and caps to ingredients and supplies and nearly all of them have some kind of packing materials inside the box. Rather than throwing that packaging away, we reuse clean, undamaged shipping materials in your orders. This reduces our reliance on new materials and helps keep waste out of landfills.
We’re also in the process of switching from plastic packing air pillows to recyclable kraft paper for order padding and fill. It’s a more earth-friendly option and still protects your products during transit.

Smarter Packaging Choices
We recognize that sustainable packaging can be a challenge in the beauty industry. While some plastic is still necessary to keep products safe, clean, and affordable, we’re careful about the materials we use. We choose recyclable plastics when possible and actively work to reduce how much we use.
Our new lip butter balm and reformulated lip scrubs will launch in glass containers instead of plastic—an intentional shift that reflects our ongoing effort to do better for the planet. The jars will be inside a box, which serves a much larger purpose than just looking pretty on a shelf. Boxes protect very well in shipping, which means no bubble wrap or other material needed.
We’re also begun a transition away from pump tops on products like our Luxe Body Lotion and our Body Oil, toward more compact caps, allowing customers to reuse pumps instead of discarding them with every purchase.
Less Packaging, More Impact
Minimal packaging isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about reducing emissions and waste. We take care to:
-
Use the smallest boxes possible for each order
-
Pack every box by hand with biodegradable or recycled fill
-
Use enough padding to prevent product damage, helping us avoid waste from returned or re-shipped items
This kind of intentional packing helps us reduce our carbon footprint and supports a more sustainable shipping process overall.
Supporting Shorter Shipping Distances
When selecting our suppliers, we prioritize companies with shorter shipping distances. This allows us to reduce transportation emissions and speed up our production process while supporting regional businesses.
Fewer miles traveled means less fuel used, fewer emissions produced, and a smaller environmental impact overall. It's a practical way to combine efficiency with sustainability.
How to Recycle Your Beauty Product Containers
We’re doing our part to make packaging more sustainable—but we know the end of a product’s life matters too. Many local Ulta and Sephora stores now participate in Pact Collective, which accepts a wide variety of hard-to-recycle beauty packaging.
You can search for a participating drop-off location near you here:

Recycling your empty Scrub Me Good containers through this program is an easy way to reduce landfill waste and keep materials in use.
Eco-Friendly Business = Smart Business
Many of the steps we take to reduce waste and emissions also help us save money. Reusing packaging, choosing the right box sizes, and sourcing more locally all help lower our shipping and production costs.
It proves that running a green business isn’t just a nice idea—it’s a smart way to grow sustainably and affordably.
Small Changes, Big Picture
The truth is, no single business can do it all. But by making intentional decisions every day—from how we pack your order to the jar we choose for a new product—we’re building a business that aligns with our values.
We’re not perfect, and we’re not pretending to be. But we are committed to doing better, learning as we grow, and making it easier for you to support a company that puts the planet first.
Final Thoughts
If you want skincare and body care that works and supports the earth, you’re in the right place. Scrub Me Good is more than exfoliation and candles—it’s a business built on care, intention, and transparency.
This Earth Day, we invite you to join us in making simple swaps that support a healthier planet. Because every scrub, balm, and candle you buy from us is one more small step toward a more sustainable future.
